Shrinking coral

I bought a frag of candy cane coral two maybe three weeks ago and it seems to be shrinking. Maybe a better way to describe it is that they are loosing the plump meaty look. They still have color. Any ideas what's going on and how to change the current current course they are on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need a bit more info from you. Parameters, temp, lighting, water flow etc will all affect the expansion of caulastrea.

Yes they will shrink in higher light but will often plump up again as they adapt. Unless they are turning white & shrinking into the skeleton then they probably aren't in danger of perishing. You might be surprised how little light they need to flourish. I have seen them shrink and lose some color in the top 1/4th of a 65g under 6 bulb T5s with so so reflectors, but thrive at the bottom at about 20 inches with some shading. If in doubt, move it lower. The lighting it was raised under plays a role as well.
