I think that I will stick with splitting the multi mouthed rics. Easy, and I don't think that I have had any losses. I went with the crushed coral so that it would be a little easier to mount to rocks, hasn't caused any problems for me in splitting. I thought i read somewhere that J. sprung mentioned multi mouthed rics were a 'rare' anomaly. Is this true?

I don't think that is tru in the case of Florida Ricordeas. The majority of rics I received were multi mouthed animals. I think six mouths was the most. Here are a couple of pictures.

i got a ric with 5 mouths and frages it into 5 rics and they are all happy and growing
