shrooms under 40 watts?

I have a few green striped mushrooms and they are under a 40 watt 50/50 bulb. They have been going for 2 months now. How is this possible? I thought mushrooms were somewhat photosynthetic. Am I wrong or is this ok. The stripes are not as bright of course but the mushroom is living and has split once.

They are photosynthetic but the basic basic discosomas like what you have can do okay in relatively low light situations

The mushrooms will be fine. You'll never get stellar color, but they will grow, multiply and live. You'll see them growing very long stems and grow somewhat translucent. No sign for alarm, just a result of low lighting.
