Sicce pumps

I have 5 sicce pumps and I can not get more than 16 lpm out of them. Does anybody have any ideas how to get more lpm from them? I have tried different mesh sizes and different air intakes. Thanks

I couldnt tell ya what they do other than mesh mod them. You sure they are the same pump?

They are factory Sicce pumps, meshmoded with a 10 mil id air intake and a 15 mil water inlet. don't have the camera here today to take pics. Thanks

How are you testing them??? Do you have alot of head pressure on them perhaps? Too little head pressure can also have an adverse affect sometimes. Something is definitely wrong though...

Btw, if you do have them connected to one skimmer, perhaps you are overloading that skimmer with air. That might explain why you are only getting 16lpm per pump.

5 different skimmer of various designs that I have made. 1 pump per skimmer. They are on my rock curing tank of 375 gallons. Thanks

You say the skimmer is sitting in 7 inches of water, but how tall is the skimmer body on those skimmers???

Horace the skimmer is 22 inches tall, foshizzle, They pull the same amount connected or not connected. Thansk

Did you buy the pumps already modded??? The only place I know of to get them is from Reef Geek. If you bought the standard un modded pump and expect them to perform as good as the ones from ATI, your likely setting yourself up for a big let down. I would compare your pump to the ATI version and try to figure out what the problem is.

Where did you put the air intake?

What mesh, how many layers, and how large compared to the yellow impeller disc? These are all key factors as you no doubt are aware.
