Sicce pumps

Ostrow, I have the hole in the exact same spot as the Sicce pumps. I am using the exact same mesh as they are. The holes in the yellow disk are in the same spot as they are. It does not matter whether I use there pump or my pump the air flow is the same. Thanks

Oh I see ... you have one they meshed and you have meshed your own.

pm mavgi and see what he says...

My guess is its your meter that is wrong then....While those pumps do vary in air pull, they dont vary by that much.

Wow...like mentioned above...you should probably talk to Mavgi. He seems to know quite a bit about that pump and mesh mods in general.

I have tried a couple of things and have got the lpm up to 16-17 lpm. I am going to keep plugging away at it. Hopefully Mavgi can aid me on this one. Thanks

Can you post a pic of the intake? Is it entirely open, or do you have something in there that restricts water intake? I believe just before the air intake there should be a water restriction of some sort. Just curious if that's it.

Ostrow, The intake is reduced down to 15 mm. The air intake is at 10 mm id. I am now at 17 lpm I hope that once it breaks in it will be at 19 lpm. Hope this helps

Does anyone know for sure that ATI doesnt get these pumps customized from Sicce? Royal Exclusiv gets their Askoll pumps custom, even though they use the same pumps as a Laguna... but the windings inside are different.

Hahn, I think he has an ATI pump and a pump that he modded and hes getting the same performance out of both...Odd that the ATI pump isnt doing more out of the box...arent they supposed to be like 1200lph??

Yes, 1000-1200lph of air, but that number will vary with depth. The Bubblemasters are only 22" tall, so they only have about 16" of actual water depth.

Hahn. They are the same pumps that ATI uses. Mine are just not meshwheeled. Once I received them I cut the impellor vanes off and moded it to be the smae as the ATI pump. Thnaks

So jayson, do you have an ACTUAL modded pump from ATI to compare yours to? Im not questioning weather or not they are the same pump, but it may be possible that ATI did more than just mod the impeller. It would also be useful to get an exact version of thier venturi as well, as that (as you know) makes a huge difference.

I have the ATI/SICCE pump from my 1st gen 200bm. Nothing has been changed by ATI except the mesh wheel. Thanks

and your 200bm only pulls 17lpm???

If thats the case, I GOTTA believe its your testing equipment setup.. perhaps your meter is too restrictive or something...no idea man, but that pump SHOULD draw more than your getting.

how about comparing the wattages/power factor between the two with a kill-a-watt. That might shed some light on what is different between the two.

Thats the thing Hahn, even the ATI modded pump is only pulling 17lpm or so. He was able to get his modded version to get the same performance as the ATI one, but both are well under what they should draw. At better test would be to compare the air draw using his meter from a pump that is known to pull the normal amount. I think his meter is off or something....why else would the ATI version not pull the right amount, and all his modded ones pull the same as the ATI?

Jayson

Why don't you take some pictures of your Mod?
I want to see your pumps & how you mod them because I put meshwheel on the SICCE model PS7 magnetic drive submersible water pump, the problem w/this pump is that it does not start when it is in water. I don't know why.

They both only pull 17 lpm. I have a killawatt on the pump. They both draw the same wattage29-30 watts. David I have some pictures but have no idea how to upload them. Thanks
