I been fighting this for id say 3 weeks so far. The anem was on the rock by the other anem and the other anem looks fine just this one was small and just didn't look right. So i got him off the rock and into this plastic container just in case i need to get him before he nukes the tank. I been feeding him shrimp about every other day. I also at night when the light is off he gets a little bigger than this but not open and no color like the other anem. Any ideas if this thing is a no go and should just get rid of it before something happen or see how it goes?

It's hard to say, Anemones draw up and look like they will disappear, and then a little later they are swelled up again. I can't seem to figure what they want. Just watch him a while. If he starts looking like raw hamburger meat, get him out fast....

Actually anemone's get their food two ways, one is from the sun and the other is digestion or eating. If it can't get one it needs the other. So this said if they are sick and can't take in sunlight from their zoo low as in being bleached they need to eat.

I say this one needs to be fed food. IMO

It's possible. It could also be possible its getting stressed because its getting fed every other day. I would at least make sure they are very small pieces. Krill would be good.

I just checked on it. The lights are off and the anem is a little bigger mouth open and white obviously. Yeah not sure what i need to do really. Keep feeding him every other day or once a week? This weekend i am increasing the LEDS because they ramp up to 55 blues and 35 whites. I dont feel like it is enough for a lot of my corals and the other anem. Why cant anems just be simple :P

I missed that part of being fed every other day

What you need to do for now is NOTHING. Like I said in my post above there are two ways nems get fed. If you ramp up the lights you could be making it worse on this one. I'd let things be as they are for now.

I do have one question, is this sick one completely bleached? As in totally white no color at all?

Yes it is white. The only color that i see is on the outside of the anem (base) which is just a brownish color

Not sure this will work but it's worth a try. Get a tentacle cut off of the healthy nem and feed it to the sick one. This will give the sick nem more zooxanthellae which is what lives in the anemone that allows it to get food from the sun. Hey it's worth a shot. Just snip off half an inch or so of one tentacle and feed it to the sick one. Then we pray. Being white shows the zooxanthellae are not there. When nems get sick they puke it up but in most cases there is enough there left to multiply.

I'm praying that I can save my Duncan colony, it's got brown jelly disease. I had to cut off 1/3 of the heads on it this morning. I'm praying. Sad to lose that much of a beautiful coral.

Ok i will try that i will have to see what i can use to cut it off with. can scissors work or should i get something else? What would you suggest to hold the tentacle i can try my hands but wasn't sure if it will go in once it feels my touch. (also the picture is from this morning with no lights on yet only a little sun coming in from the window.)

Oh man best of luck. That is sad. Can you do some type of dip or sometime of QT to help it?

Yeah i was reading that. Ok thank i will try that and hopefully helps the sick one out.

Dkuhlmann - Best of luck!! that's terrible what may of caused it you know?

Your anemone looks to be to far gone to save. Also that size of anemone will not nuke your tank if it dies.
You never know. I've found it best to just leave them alone. Assuming the tank is mature, parameters are with in their proper ranges, and they stable/consistent. Dips before they go in for any bacterial infection is a good idea.
