sick clown and I don't know what it colud be

I have a perc clown and he is pretty skinny with a fast breathing rate. He now has a white stool that hangs on him. Can any one shed some light on this for me?

Well I don't know how long the LFS had it but he is no more he expired shortly after the first post.I had the little guy for about a week.

The white stringey poop is a sign of internal parasites. I've found that medicated food works best for internal parasites. Jungle Labs sells a medicated food that contains metronidazole and acriflavine that works well.

Okay now my other clown is sick with the same symptoms. I have moved her to a QT tank but she won't eat and hasn't for the last four days. How do I treat this if she won't eat?

Try putting the fish in a breeder box inside the DT. She will be more comfortable that way and will be more likely to eat. The other alternative is to just feed the whole tank with the medicated food. That way, you can be sure everybody is treated and decreases the chance of re-infection.
Just make sure no food is left uneaten.
