I got a new fish yseterday a Clown. He seemed fine yesterday in the tank. He ate and played around. Today he looks like he is having trouble keeping his balance in the water. He is swimming up and down and turning on his side near the surface. I did just put food in and he ate but I am thinking he is not doing well.

I have a green chromis in there with him and the chromis is fine. I checked my params yest before putting him in and all was well I will re check today..

Any thoughts. I've never owned a clown is this something that they do.?? What should I do for him

I just checked my params
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
PH 8.2
SG 1.024

Temp 79.7

Fish still looks like he is struggling to stay swimming. Any thoughts please.

my perculas did that. I thought they were going to die. I babied them, put food in several times a day. Of course you have to do more water changes this way. I also enriched their food with Selcon, zoe, garlic. (alternated at feedings) They survived, but they still just stop swimming and float sideways at night. I've gotten used to this strange behavior. I would also check the disease forum to be safe. Good luck, hopefully they are just odd like mine.
fish disease, treatment

Thanks for the reply. I am hopeful because he took food instantly today. My Green Chromis just sits in the water column you cant even tell he is moving but the clownis up and down and sideways and upside down. He is either in big trouble or was dropped as a kid one to many times..
