Sick hairy mushroom

Hi everyone!

Unfortunately, my situation is not looking too good. I have a large hairy mushroom that is being hosted by my true percula clowns. Right now, the mushroom was trying to split, but the clowns didn't like it, and I think might have injured it a bit while hosting.

Now to the bad part. Half of the mushroom is already starting to excrete stringy materials, probably almost like a shoelace, the other half is still doing great and inflating. Right now, the clowns are out of it and won't be hosting until morning, but I am hoping that I could get the mushroom back on track to healing. It looks pretty bad, and I haven't done any fragging before, so I'd prefer to cut the mushroom as a last resort.

Is there anything I can do?

I'll update with pictures in the morning because my camera needs to charge.

my hairy shrooms always look like hell when they are splitting and yet always are bigger afterwards...

from my experience put it in a small bucket an gently shake it.. to get rid of the slime..its worked for me..

I hate to say this everyone, but the mushroom wasn't splitting.

It died 2 hours ago.

Fell off the rock and began to fold up and decay.
