So I received some frags in the other day. Unfortunately Fed Ex. messed up and the box sat for a day in a holding facility. One or two of the bags had leaks to boot :(. Anyway, most of it looks ok. It's taking a while to open. Been 24 hours or so, I know its not much. But 2 of the stonies. A hammer and torch, really dont look good. One has totally recessed to the point there is nothing there, and continues to mucus away :). My perfect water parameteres are now showing some signs of amonia spike. could this be from the mucus? Or is the thing probably dying. BTW the water in the shipping bags had hit 71.4 degrees. I am kinda shocked anything is living. Any idea about the stonies? Should I give them a few days. I can post some pics. I am new to the frag thing. Not sure how to tell if Birds next is doing ok or not :)

The temp wasn't bad, but the time in the bag certainly was. If those corals are getting a brown jelly looking mucous covering, they are dying and being consumed by protozaons and bacteria. The best bet is to take them out and rinse of the jelly, I've even down this using luke warm tap water right of the faucet, to remove any loose material. Than place them back in the tank in an area of high flow and keep your fingers crossed.

It was a brown mucus comming off of them. The Hammer is not doing it now. But I think its done :(. The torch has the brown stuff on it. I give it a shot Thanks!.
