sick or breeding?

I have a pair of true percs, been in my tank for 3 months. I purchased them from a lfs that sold them as a pair and have been mostly inseperable except for sleep.

When I first got them they were hesitant to eat, but after a few days they started to chow down. As of 3 days ago, the male began to not eat. Would watch as the female devoured food, but took none. He also began to hang out away from their normal corner.

Yesterday after a feeding attempt the female became lethargic, I walked away and came back to find the 2 of them in a diff corner, but had swept away a ton of sand.

Today the female is in her normal corner, the male is over in the corner with the swept away sand (no sight of a clutch) and neither is eating.

Tank parameters: SG 1.026, NH3 and nitrites 0, Nitrates 2, PO4: <.02, temp: 78.2
Theres no signs of ich, no parasites, no fin clamping or damage.

Any advice would be appreciated

Clownfish never stop eating unless something is wrong with them or they are full, but some don't even stop then.
If they don't eat the foods they would eat before I would say they are sick or something else is wrong.
Maybe post some pictures.

If they start spawning they will start cleaning the spot they want to lay their eggs on and the female usually has a fat belly.
