Sick Orange Spot Goby

Hello Everyone, I'm knew to this forum and looking for some help with my orange spot goby. It has been in the DT for 5 mo, has been healthy and active. 2 days ago started sitting for long periods in one spot, showing no interest in frozen food, and no longer sifting sand. Has not rebuilt its burrow, and am pretty sure it didn't return to its burrow last night. It began swimming in circles this morning when I tried to feed it.
I removed it from the DT today and into a hospital tank with sand. I tried target feeding it, shows no interest.
-It's mouth is clear, no visible obstructions
-visually looks healthy and well fed
-eyes are clear, not sunken & no exopthalmia
I haven't seen it bump into anything - could it be blind?
Aquarium lights are 5 Kessil A360s
Many thanks for your thoughts on this.

Unfortunately yes. He is still:

  • swimming in circles, clockwise with lights on and with lights off
  • shows no interest in food
  • belly is clear, no spots
  • doesn't react when object put right in front of him
Is there something that makes you suspect an internal infection? What would you suggest for treatment?
Thanks Triggerfish.

since you say there is nothing visible, maybe internal parasites/worms
maybe some prazi.

possibly Ichthyophonus fungus - whirling disease.. i have never really encountered this. apparently difficult to treat.
