Sick(?) Palys

While I'm not a complete newb at corals I am unfamiliar with disease or dipping, just couldn't bring myself to it. Is this zoa pox? They are captain america palys or something like that.

I've had them for a couple months now, they grew well in my quarantine tank for the first month. Though last few weeks i have noticed them shrinking a bit.

Last weekend I bought my first sps and I started adding microbacter7 (this caused cloudy water for the first week but has cleared up since then). I also dropped the lighting down maybe 4 inches. The par is currently 200ish, up from 150ish.

also nothing else in the tank seems impacted by the sudden changes in light and water clarity.

Tank Stats:
35ppt salinity
Undetectable: Ammonia, nitrite, phosphate
Nitrate 1-2 ppm
Calcium 450 ppm
Alkalinity 9.6 dkh

Other additives:
ESV 2 part
BioFuel
Microbacter7

Livestock:
Marine beta
Kole Tang
Clown (Occ.)
Clown Goby
Various snails and crabs
Emerald crab
Blood Shrimp
Assorted zoas/palys
Stylophora + Policopora (sp?)
Crisata coral
GSP

sorry here is the pic

This is not too bad!

Do a partial water change.
Feed the polyps dry coral foods, like Reef Chili and Coral Frenzy.

I've tried Microbacter7 and didn't like. There is no need for that and I had problems with my zoas too!!!
Forget that! Not worthy and unnecessary, as I've said.

would you continue with the biofuel, I know this is appropriate for another forum but, I thought they worked best together?

Also, you don't think the white dots are a disease?

What would be good to work together?

I can't say anything about the Biofuel because I've never tried yet.
I know I wouldn't play with vodka nor other carbon based product to enhance bacterial growth just because I feel it's unnecessary and an unbalance with the bacterial population could happen, turning the water cloudy and all that, so"¦ There is no need for that, really.
BUT isn't something that I could tell you to stop, ' cause I don't know of anything bad and serious that could do to your system. Once you get that under control and play safe it should be OK, I guess. Did you see any positive changes in the system after you began to the product? Please let us know"¦

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can see any diseases in that picture. Perhaps those spots you're talking about are grains of sand? That is a probably a Palythoa sp. and they tend to gather grains around them.
If you please post a better picture we could try to find more. Or simply try to grab those "white spots" with tweezers. Sand grains should come off easily.

when i get the chance I will get another picture posted in here that is better. unfortunately the spots are brightest under blue light, as the polyps are open in the day light.

I noticed my skimmer working better the past few weeks, when dosing biofuel and the MB7, and the water, post-bacterial bloom, was crystal clear, and what little algae I had cleared up, except the bubble algae, which wont go away.
