Sick powder brown

Thx. Angel is long gone..... didn't make it :o(

I have the two hawks, black widow blenny, banggai, yellow tang, flame tail and (if I can get it to come out, I think the purple firefish) left.

50% water change done this morning, will lower some more at the weekend.

I would use Cuprisorb to remove the copper once treatment has been completed. Prolonged exposure to copper can cause problems with fish, so you will want to remove it quickly.

Prazipro is another medication that I would suggest you use after the copper treatment is over! Its a great dewormer and gets rid of flukes!

Sorry for your losses! One of my tangs is currently sick too, but I decided on a different approach, and that is to simply wait it out. I know the purists here will tell you ich cannot be defeated and comes back and must be eradicated, but most horror stories involving fish losses I read involve some kind of drastic treatment, while a lot of people who just sit and wait are reporting recovery. Just my opinion. I've been in the hobby long enough to know that overeacting to any situation never leads to anything good.

I don't understand this statement. The "purists" in this forum would state that ich can absolutely be defeated with appropriate treatment, and can absolutely be prevented with a good quarantine practice. "Managing" ich is not a viable long-term strategy IMO.
