Have 2 tanks that seem to have a bacterial infection going on 1st tank has 14 week Redi seahorses that seem to be lethargic and some devoloped tail rot 2nd tank the same with 7 week Redi done large water changes installed a uv sterilizer on both tanks any ideas on what to use to treat the entire tank? 1st is a 30 gal with a 15 gal sump second is a 20 gal with a 10 gal sump. any help will be appreciated

Do you mean you've had the Reidi for 7 weeks and 14 weeks.... or do you mean they are 7 weeks old and 14 weeks old? If they are adults, you will need to treat in a seperate hospital tank with Neomycin and Triple Sulpha or Neomycin and Furan2 and get the tank down to 68F. Usually these bacterial infections (Vibrio) are brought on by elevated temperatures (ie: keeping the tank above recommended temps of 74F).
If these are fry (7 and 14 weeks old) it is not advisable to use any meds with fry/juvies. As difficult as it is, most breeders never medicate ill fry, but instead cull them out and concentrate on those that are healthy.

There might be some cross contamination occurring from the equipment you are using, it might just be a coincidence.
I would drop the temp on both tanks to the 66-68F range. Keepng the temp that low will stop the progression of the bacteria and give the seahorses a chance to fight off the infection if they can.
I would not medicate fry, just drop the temp and hope for the best. You can keep the fry at that temp while raising them as a preventative IME. It does slow there metabolism a bit to I am told.

I've culled the really bad ones. I expected to have to cull the rest today, but I'm seeing some improvement.
The only thing I can think of is that we had a power outage about a week ago. I'm not sure how long the power was off. When I got home, I hooked up the generator and got the water moving again.
