1. How old is this aquarium?
1 year
2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level?
0.0
3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured?
1.026 SG Milwaukee MA887. Calibrated with RODI water. Double checked with BRS Refractometer calibrated per manual.
4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium?
Eight Months ago. This was the last fish added as the last one.
5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How?
No QT.
6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When?
No copper. Reef tank more than a few inverts.
7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer?
No.
8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color?
The fish in the beginning - five days ago - appeared to be loopy. Swimming as if it were drunk. Was eating Mysis shrimp. For the past four days, would come out only in the morning to feed - I feed Mysis in the morning. Would ignore the brine shrimp feeding at night.
Yesterday, I noticed white substances on the fins. Still eating, but swimming loopy still. (Loopy meaning upside down at times, but wrasses swim funny normally)
Today, it was out but laying on the substrate. Not eating. Also bent like a horseshoe. I went out, bought a 5.5 gal hospital tank. Siphoned water from MT and located wrasse into QT. I dosed a 5 gal quantity of Tetracycline and Erythromycin.
Color pale.
9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish?
Fish is bent like a horseshoe and not swimming. Sitting on bottom of hospital tank. Eyes move and dorsal fins move occasionally - so still alive.
10. Is the fish eating? What?
Not sure if eating today, but was eating frozen Mysis shrimp - Piscine brand.
11. Current and Future Tactics:
Dosing Tertacycline and Erythromycin. Going to do an 80% water change.
Going to stop Tertacycline as it doesn't seem to do well in salt water.
Went to LFS and the shop keeper suggested Nitrofurazone and Metronidazole with an antibacterial Polymer called Focus by SeaChem to bind the medication to food.
