Sick Wrasse

I got him about 3 weeks ago at the club meeting and he had a small white spot on his gill. Now it has spread quite a bit. I'm thinking bacteria or fungus but want to make sure it's not flukes. Should I treat with Maracyn 2 and then do the fresh water dip? What should the water parameter be with the fresh water dip. I've got a 10 gal tank that I'm going to set up tonight for a QT.
Photos in a sec.

He eats good, no weird actions. It looks like I can see his gills moving under the infection.

Looks like a bacterial infection. QT with antibiotics, treat 7-10 days. Actually a true fungus like saprolegnia is rare in fish. Nice zoos behid him. It looks like you caught it early, he should recover. Watch out for ammonia build up in qt as it will have no biofilter. Keep water on hand for changes and amquel to neutralize ammonia.

Ya, the zoos were in QT for 3 weeks with flat worms and it was murder to keep up with the ammonia.
What kind of antibiotic do you recommend?
I have a microscope if someone has a link to what this might be.

To use a microscope you will have to remove the fish and do a skin scraping causing stress, not worth the effort I think. I would use Furan2 or Maracyn2 or Triple sulfa all made by API.
