Side Effects of the Gulfstream II mod

I picked up a couple of the Gulfstream II mod kits for some Maxi-Jet 1200 powerheads. The flow has been incredible but I found a scary side effect. When I cam home today my Moorish Idol was stuck to the side of the impeller guard. The vaccuum effect of the side had sucked him on. I freed him and he appears to be none the worse for where. I immediately set about using rockwork to keep it from happening again...

make sure that the fish wasnt sick in the first place, its unusual for healthy fish to get stuck in powerheads even from the suction, fish are very strong swimmers and usually only get stuck if they are sick or on their way out .

The moorish idols survival rate in reef aquaria is very poor and only a very few experts will try to keep one so chances are it is a goner. Think about the ocean in a storm and then think about your maxijet mod , our fish will swim up to a vortech running full tilt at 3000 gals per hr and pick algae off of it or just use it like a tread mill .
PS I really hope it makes it.

He appears to be fine so far. He is rather small though so his size could play a part in why he had a hard time breaking free.
