Siganus virgatus in a 90?

It would get a bit tight in the long term, but if it was a choice between a rabbitfish and a tang, I'd go with the rabbit.

I have a Virgatus in my 120. If it's an algae, the Virgatus will eat it (even nasty rhodophytes like the stuff on the rock in the background).

Here's a wider view. The Virgatus is in front of the rocks on the left.

any suggestions what would be a good alternative? i have a bit of a hair algae problem, and my lawnmower blenny bit the dust. he wasn't even nibbling it anyway.

sorry for the thread hijack.

Local Petco has a S. virgatus (listed as 'Assorted Tang'); I would rather get an S. doliatus but have never seen one locally. Would you recoment waiting for the Doliatus or go with the Virgatus? Goal is to have a fish that eats bryopsis.

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢d go ahead and get a virgatus. I waited a long time to find a doliatus, too. I decided to get a virgatus instead, when one of my lfs had about five little ones in stock.

Virgatus and doliatus are very, very closely related. Doliatus has blue squiggly lines; virgatus has blue dots. Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve read where the two species will interbreed in the wild.

Virgatus rabbits tend to be a bit shy when they're all by themselves (in the wild they like to travel in pairs). So don't be surprised when your new fish spends the first several days hiding amoung your rocks.

I had herd the same for S. doliatus, so I dont know if that would affect the decision. Thanks for your input. Seems that whenever you post it is with useful information.
