Hey all. I was a member of CMAS when I lived in chicago, but have since moved to Door County and would love to meet some reefers.

My user name is lwight75 and I live in Green Bay and currently have a 54 gal corner with a 16 gal sump and would like to join your club.

Its gonna cost you........

Sign me in! Been in Sheboygan a year and haven't done anything at all with Reef Clubs!

Though borderline here, we poor Sheboygans caught inbetween the two areas it seems :)

hey, i'm interested in joining just a few queshtons,

meetings, when? where?

has anyone found a lfs in the fox valley area that knows what they are talking about? i have gone to a few and they all had no clue what a refugium was, what a DSB was, and the livestock seems to not be in the best condition (guess thats to be expected when they don't seem to know what they are doing), corals especially, of course there is the internet but for things such as zooplankton etc. i'd rather not pay for shiping.

what all do you do in your club? do you trade frags?

Glad to have you here!! We usually have meetings every month except december and some summer months. It looks like johnanddawn are hosting an Oct meet.

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1726190

We have a sticky at the top of the forum with meeting info. Usually as the month begins the person hosting will post a date and details.

As for LFS's Brian has a thread that's stickied at the top with locations of stores. I live near Wausau so I can't speak for the quality of many of the stores in the fox valley. I've been to Rare aquatics and pet emporium (RAPE) and it had a pretty large selection of corals but nothing spectacular. The best corals you'll get will be trading at the meets and on the forum. Be careful when trading or selling. There are strict rules on RC about that and if you cross the line you'll get a warning but only one. Just follow the RC rules (which aren't very strict) and you can buy sell and trade some really spectacular corals. With the large amount of locals that frequent this forum there is virtually anything and everything available. You can get live phyto, macro algea, corals, anemones, etc... (and RB's if your not careful! LOL!!)People usually start a sale/trade thread before each meet also.

Threads have been a bit slow lately but if you have questions don't hesitate to post a new thread. There are many of us that follow the threads but don't necessarily post daily or start a lot of new threads.

Enjoy!!

wow, it's been almost 5 years since the FVRC was started. I couldnt keep up with my tank and college so I was forced to sell. Now im done with all that, bought a house, and getting married. Just bought a used AquaPod 12 gallon. Thats as big as I am allowed to go for now. You guys let me back in? I'm not sure I remember much, but this should be fun.

No dues, just send frags to everyone. LOL!!

Never met you when you were on before. I'm Jeremy. Glad your back again. I'm sure we can convince the forces that be to upgrade from a 12 gal nano!!!

Enjoy!!

Jeremy
