hello, I am building my first sump system and was wondering if i can use regular clear silicon from the hardware store or what i can use?
any info would be appreciated my new 90 gallon will be here in a day or two

Hardware stores usually sell aquarium silicone... but yes... regular clear silicon will do just fine.

Silicone only bonds glass to glass. If your making an acrylic sump you'll need to get some weld-on.

Make sure you get the clear kind without that antifungus stuff. It will kill everything in your tank.

100% Silicone 1 by GE will cost you about 4 bucks at HD or Lowes, and goes on quick and smooth with some practice. I believe Silicaon II has the anti fungal stuff in it.

I used 100% Silicone 1 by GE numerous times and never had any problems..
