Silicone add on question

So in my new build I know this used 180 holds water and can handle to flow pressure of two vortech mp40s (recently the previous set up). The OCD in me is looking at the black silicone joints on the front and side panels that are slightly marred from scraping and I want them straight. The chipped edges don't go to the actual joint so I wanted to ask would it be ok to tape a straight line and fill in the gaps on the silicone for aesthetic purposes? I don't personally see an issue with it, if anything I think it could support the joint a little more than it is (at an extremely limited capacity). Please chime in if there could be an issue. TIA.

No because the new silicone will not stick to the old used silicone, and it will end up floating around your tank. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you want to fix it, that is a up to you, but it is a great deal of work, unlike described so often as being "easy." But the way to fix it—is to re-seal the entire tank.

Ah I did not know that new silicone won't stick to old silicone, thanks a lot for the info! Definitely not entertaining re-sealing the entire tank lol, that is far beyond my skills, intelligence, patience and toolset. Thanks again!
