Are there any brands of silicone that can be use to fix leaks inside a fish tank That you can buy at like walmart or lowes? I have some liquid nails stuff but it says not to use it for that

When my sump got a small crack in it. I put Aqua mend on it while it still had water in it. It is still holding like a champ without any problems. Obviously go with the silicone if it a bare and empty tank.

well I wouldnt say its a Crack Its around the black trim on top if I fill it just above where the glass meets the trim it leaks some spots I can stick my finger in where it wasnt siliconed right from the start but nothing I can do about that Now also around the bottom trim as well but I will prob just have to do that on the outside and hope it holds

Thanks Vandy But I have to head to gallatin anyway later so i can just pick some up not sure how much I am gonna need yet seems as I get one spot fixed another pops up I curse this lil tank lol

Get the 100% silicone Type I stuff as it does not have the anti mold and bacteria additives.

It very rarely works to fix a leak from the outside, If the tank Is empty and dry just run a new bead around the bottom of the tank and It should fix your problem! Just use a spreader they sell In the Silicone section and get It On the sides and bottom, Just like the factory did only again.

Yea my wife keeps telling me to call them and tell them about how it wasnt fixed right but this tank is like 3 years old lol

well If I was going to do it I would just go all the way around the top just to be safe but I've got salt creep everywhere on the side and no water splashed from me I can clean it off and 2 days later it is back

I feel ya, John... I've got the same issue with my 24g NanoCube. :-/

One day I'll finally run a bead around the top and let it cure... and I need to do that soon... the salt creep totally ruins the rest of the tank.
