silicone tape

Hi. I'm curious if anyone might know, is self-fusing silicone tape is safe to use in a marine setup? Some will be immersed in water, some not. I couldn't get a confirmation from the manufacturer, they replied that they didn't test on all potential uses. I could look at the data sheet. All that it said specifically, ''self-fusing silicone tape''. It feels like it would fine.....

as long as it is 100% silicone it will be fine

That's the thing...all the data sheet says is that it's ''self-fusing silicone''. Is that possible, w/o another ingrediant?
