you don't have to, but if you have the space and the opportunity, it's not a bad idea.

they're generally considered low risk for bringing in fish diseases, but low risk isn't the same as no risk.

adjust your risk mitigation (QT) strategy accordingly.
 
The reason I asked is I just got a shipment of snails and 2 crabs at my house but I'm at work for another 2 hours, but I had my mom float the bags one of the crabs were DOA so I don't want the live crab to stay in the bag to long with the dead one. so I can tell her to empty the crabs into a container until I get home
