Silly Rabbit.....fish

I picked up a rabbitfish the other day. Beautiful and healthy I might add. He/she seems to follow the Coral Beauty all over the tank. At first I thought...its a coincidence but after watching for a while you can see a definite shadowing. It definitely doesn't look like a dangerous/aggressive situation just a tagging along sort of thing. Is this common?

Also I don't see it eating algae. It does eat the heck out of Formula One flakes though. Could that come from being bred in captivity?

Give him Formula II flakes instead...hes an algae lover.......RF are pretty greedy eaters...try some nori and mysis enirched too......he may start to get aggressive the CB keep an eye out...if you even care about the CB i dont like them so id let him chase the hell out of him

What species did you get? I've kept several and have a doliatus now and have never seen any aggression from these fish other than a defensive posture with the spines up. My doli follows my mimic tang just as you describe but my last foxface pretty much kept to himself, maybe its a juvenile thing.

Here are some pictures of the buddies. All taken within a matter of minutes.

Your Rabbit is acting like a Tang! Tangs like to play 'follow the leader'
My Hippo is obsessed with my Iridis Wrasse:confused:

I'm not sure who is following who but I see my Naso swimming with the Blue Girdled a lot side by side without any agression toward each other.

Sk8r--I think you may be right that they are trying to school.
