Simmer on while mini cycle?

Hello, I went from 10 gallon to 29 gallon and I put 10 gallons of my already cycled, good water into the 29 as well as 15 pounds of live rock and 8 pounds of sand that was in there too.

I have a biowheel for a 20 gallon ( I know, I know, but I already had it and I figured I would just throw it on for good measure) and a aqua c remora protein skimmer.

My tank is going through a mini cycle. Should I keep the skimmer running or turn it off?

how do you know it's going thru a mini cycle? Do you have amonia and nitrite spikes?

yeah i have very slight ammonia. no nitrite. 15ppm nitrate. But it could just be that I have a bad test kit though. API is what I have for now.
