Single species tank

Just after some ideas as there are way more fish out there than I know. I'm thinking about a 2x2x1.5' (l x w x h) low light reef tank. Since I have a big tank already this was going to be in my study. So I was thinking I might be able to put something in there that is coral safe but not "reef" safe. Some thoughts I've had are

an angler or dwarf lion
snowflake eel
a few brightly colour damsels
maybe pipefish
agressive clown pair (maroons or something different)

Does anyone have any recommendations to add to the possible candidates or see any problems with the current short list? Lower temp or deep water fish would be ok too as I'm planning to basically use this as a prop tank for some of the deep water ricordea yuma's. So any suggestions are most welcome.
