Sinularia has holes in it

I have a Sinularia and it has holes along its stalk. I noticed this and it does not open up as often as it has. It sometimes is wilted over. But these seem to be getting worse. What are these holes?

Same coral and side below, just two pics showing same thing. Sorry about coralline algae

Has been in my tank for a long time. Some new coral has been added recently however.

Assuming no water parameter changes/chemical additions, I'd start with nippers and sweepers. If the new coral has sweepers or can touch the Sinularia, it could cause that. A fish could have decided to start snacking, too (even if it never showed any signs of nipping before).

I've had lesions like that open up on toadstools, but haven't seen it in Sinularia type corals. On the toads, the lesion is usually followed by self propagation.

I was told it is rotting. Not sure from what though. I have this next to no coral with sweepeers, and only have two med. clowns, threadfin cardinal, and a firefish. Lost a goby a while back though.

I am going to do a water change and hope for the best. Tank is always super stable whenever I test, have not tested recently though. Will do so. But again, no big changes to the tank.
