Siphon break ATO

Believe it or not but the aqualifter I connect to my ATO creates a siphon and runs even after water power shuts off. It seems impossible if the pump stops - the water should too but sometimes it doesn't.

Ive heard i should run the line to my overflow but I'de rather keep it running to sump if possible.

Any ideas?

I leave the sump end of my ATO line (also coming from an aqualifter) above the water level in the return chamber of my sump so that it cant back siphon. My aqualifter also sits above the ATO reservoir (1g water jug for the time being) to prevent the same.

Oh thats probably the difference is I have it at hte same hight as RODI jug. I;ll try your suggestions thanks.

Look into the basics of a siphon and suddenly the "impossible" isn't so impossible after all..
If the "out" is lower than the "in" a siphon is created and the water will flow on its own.
