I have my r/o that drips into a 50g drum. How long can it sit before it is not good to use?I have a small amount of current that runs in the drum? And if there is left over salt from the last mix left in it can that effect anything? Or is it easier to dump it all out and start over? Sorry and thanks !

Hello-- I have 2 tubs. 1 that I make my RO/DI in and a second that I mix my salt in. I always empty the Salt one and clean it out but my RO/DI tub I leave water in for 2 weeks till I mix up a new batch. I do take my top off water out of it. I have not covered it and the light is on at night in that room and it reads 0 when it is made and 0 when I move to my mixing tub. I would like to get a lid but havn't found one yet. I have no PH in it moving the water.---Jerry

You can let it sit as long as you want. Think about why we do RO...remove phosphates, nitrates, miscellaneous heavy metals and chemicals...assuming you're using an inert storage container, how would these leach back into the water over any amount of time?
