Six-line wrasse question. Help plz.

I have had my six line for like 9 months now, he is one of my favorites.

Being completely honest, I would not doubt if my guy has swam the distance to the moon and back, seriously he never stops moving!

mine sleeps from lights out to lights on, i panicked the first couple times too. if your worried move rocks. sixlines are awesome!!

Mine's been known to disappear for a day or two, and then when I start to think its dead, it pops out. I wouldn't worry about it.

Great fish, lots of personality. It picks on my purple firefishes though, and makes them disappear for days at a time.

my sixline has literally tried to kill itself twice. the first time it jumped out of my tank onto a glass cover i used to have right below my lights, was up there at least 15 minutes (i had just fed the tank earlier) before i heard him flop, was dry and stiff, i put him back in the water, he sunk to the bottom, and was swimming around within 5 minutes.

the second time was a few months later, i didn't see him for a few days, i happened to look at the rocks from underneath the tank (i was running barebottom) and i saw him wedged in a rock, after two more days stuck in there i took apart my rocks and freed him. he's doing fine now, active as ever, but i make sure i see it daily.

but i guess that doesn't compare to a firefish i had which disappeared one day. i opened my canister filter to clean it and found the firefish living in the top of the canister, and very skinny. it was in there for a month and a half.

I considered getting one, but all the stories about aggressive 6lines on this forum, kind of changed my mind.....

mine had got himself into a hole in the rock for the night and got stuck. I kept putting food in which always brought him out but he never showed. Then 4 days later I seen small green movement in a hole and got a flashlight and found him. I had to remove the rock and used a Dremel to cut him out, and kept wetting him with a turkey baster so he would dry out. Still have him today 1 1/2 yrs later.

Mine gets sucked into the overflow occasionally. If he is missing I check the overflow and I always found him in there. Though it sounds like you don't have an overflow. They can get stuck as others have pointed out. Good luck finding him.

Well guys and gals, I cleaned my tank, moved most of the rocks around. Cleaned the powerhead, skimmer, and carbon filter. No sign of him. Then I cleaned the entire room and no signs of him surfing the carpet. I hope he is still in the rocks somewhere but I'm assuming my scarlets, red and blue legs got a 30$ treat. :( So if he wasn't eaten, where the heck is he? :eek1:

I find that really weird. No signs of stress, eating and swimming happily and then he died? I refuse to give up hope on him lol!

I'm sad to say that there wasn't any sign of him yesterday or today and when I got my water test I had some nitrates I'm assuming from him. I'm just going to give it some time before I buy another one and make sure my water is perfect again. I'm content on having a six-line because of how cool he was. Thanks for all the support guys!

I think your six line and my six line found each other and eloped to Tonga or something!! Three days and no sign of mine either. I don't have any aggressive fish or predators. I also seem to have a Pajama Cardinal that just vanished into the thin air. I'm gonna take a powerhead to the rock in the morning and see what comes out.

I checked my overflows by looking underneath and no sign. I also checked behind the tank and nothing. Cross between frustrating and irritating!!
