Six-Line Wrasse

I am considering purchasing a Six-Line Wrasse for my 20H. I only have a Occ. Clown in there atm.

What I am concerned about is that I read that they may pick at shrimp. I have a Coral Banded Shrimp that is what I would call medium sized. I am wondering if anyone has ever had problems with a Six-Line and shrimps such as a CBS or cleaner?

My other edition to the tank will be some sort of goby, prolly an orange spotted or yellow watchman.

IMO, the CBS will kill the wrasse before the other way around happens. I've never seen a 6-line go after shrimp, but they, alongside damsels, are fish from hell! Once their terrotory is staked out they can become very mean twords their tank mates and will limit what else you can put in your tank.

I have read that if I add it last, they are not as bad. I guess we shall see. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't kill my Coral Banded or Emerald Crab

I've had my sixline for 2.5 years - he was my first fish. He's fantastic, very calm & keeps to himself, but that is not the norm for these fish. I'm not sure I'd put one in a 20gal. I'd go for a goby or blenny instead, or a different wrasse.

Mine has never touched my any of my shrimp.

I have an issue with six line because he kills all mu snails.
Now I don't have a single snail in my tank.:mad2:The sad part is I can't catch him.

I had a 6 line that used to constantly bother my peppermint shrimp but he kept all of the coral spotless of any pests. Overall, it was well worth it to keep everything clean. Just keep in mind they're pretty aggressive.

A sixline was my first fish. Had him in a 20H with a fire shrimp, pepperment shrimp, and cleaner shrimp plus numerous snails. Never any problem with inverts. He would get mad but it was always directed at me. He would try to puff himself up and stare me down. It was quite funny. I'd recommend one.

My sixline is very agressive to new fish, and eats all my shrimp when molting time comes.

If he bugs you shrimp, feed him more. And consider you won't be able to get him out of your tank. When I moved my tank I was down to 1 rock and I still wasn't able to catch him

I totally disagree. The amount you feed fish will not prevent them from doing their natural thing be it eating shrimp or corals. Fish in the wild eat almost continuously (depending on the digestive system) and it is impossible (almost) for an aquarist to replicate that.

Also, you can usually catch any fish with a fish trap with controllable door (it takes a while, but always works)
