I had posted a question in the reef fish forum regarding compatibilty with Six line Wrasses. In this article it states dottybacks will coexist. Not in my case. At the time I purchased a bicolor dottyback for my 16 gal reef that already housed a false percula clown and a six-line wrasse. The wrasse chased the dottyback for two days upon it's introduction. After that, as the dottyback became accustomed to the tank he immediately went after the wrasse and eventually killed it. My tank has a lot of rockwork so hiding places are not a problem, but with a dottyback it doesn't make a difference. I would like to maybe try a larger six-line but I am aprehensive.

hello,
each fish presents its own personality, so even though we do our best at generalizations, they are still just that - generalizations.
a 16g tank is pretty small, and i probably would have predicted your outcome. if you want to try and mix these 2 fish, you may wish to step up to at least a 55g aquarium.
