I am almost done with my Q tank. I have the back and bottom painted black, I have nice pieces of PVC for hiding and a good heater. I even built a rolling cart for it to sit on so I can roll it out into my garage when not in use! (and I can roll it to my main tank to fill up the Q tank when needed and then roll it into my office for use)
It is a 20gal long tank.
I was debating on the type of filter to use. I was debating on the AquaClear 50.
While investigating I noticed these skilter filters that combine a skimmer with a power filter. I was curious if this might be a good idea to boost airation in the Q tank as well as having the power filter that I can use for biofilter and carbon as I want.
I don't like airstones much in tanks as I like to keep salt creep under some control so I was thinking even if the skilter skimmer did not work well it would at least help with airation.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
