skimmer a or b?

I have put together a skimmer as shown on the left of the pic. its working fine, makes what looks like beer... a couple ounces a day.

I will post a pic as soon as i find my camera...

I am curious if the design on the right would be better.

The bubbles won't fill out the second chamber on the second one, they'll just go straight up.
