Skimmer Acting Up

So I've had this SCA Skimmer for a few months now and after the break in it was working fine pulling out thick skimmate,
but now its been foaming over like shown. It doesn't constantly overflow, it just pushes the cap up whenever it starts pulling out gunk.
Any ideas why the foam is too solid to dissipate and pushes the cap off?

I've tried turning the skimmer air adjuster up and down, neither have made a difference.

first time I saw this, those are some hardy bubbles. i'd put something on the lid to hold it down, just make sure it doesn't slide off.

I wouldn't say that the skimmer is acting up. When the water has a lot of junk in it it, it will foam like that. Just keep emptying it, and washing out the cup. If it's just overflowing foam then it's gonna have to work out whatever in the water. You can try raising it a half inch or so if the skim mate is too clear. Otherwise I'd day it's doing its job.

My SCA 302 does the same thing from time to time. The bubbles are so thick it blows the lid off.

Alright thanks for the input. I have been putting something on the lid to hold it down, just didn't know if that would cause back pressure in the skimmer neck since its so thick.

Unless it's air tight, I doubt this would be an issue.
