Hey all,
I just wanted to get some advice on a small problem I'm getting with my skimmer's inside water level. I'm running a ES2 cone skimmer in 9" of water, recommended level is 8"-10". And for some reason 3 days ago the water level started running much higher than usual, I have the pipe for adjusting water height almost fully open to counter act the problem. I never had to open the pipe this much before hand and I'm unsure why this is occuring now. I haven't added any chemicals other than ca/alk supplement which is added every 2 hours, and havent put anything in the tank such as epoxy or anything like that. I figured something got into the water somehow so yesterday I doubled my amount of carbon and added an extra cup in a bag + my reactor with a cup of carbon in it, and I performed a large waterchange to hopefully get whatever is in the water reduced.
It's just odd what's happening and I'm curious if anyone has any other suggestions. Before I could reduce the water height in the skimmer way below the where the skimmer cup and body attach and now with the pipe fully open it only goes down to where they connect. And it seem's to fluxuate in height every now and then.
