Skimmer Advice

Yeah they look nice but the "foot print" is larger than my chamber. Based on the diameter of the reaction chamber, it's hard to believe some of these have a 11" footprint.

Any other suggestions?

I was looking at the aqua c urchin pricey but only heard good things it is in sump and rated higher than the more common remora I believe. I know my buddy has a smaller sump out of a 20 long I think and the g2 fit in his chamber some of the pumps can be off the glass on side of sump if that helps

Could try a Marineland Skimmer...

I know the Marineland skimmers aren't considered "high-end", but I have the 100 model and it works great on my 65:

The 300 model is supposed to have a fairly small, 6", footprint as well. Maybe someone using one of the big ones can chime in and let you know how it performs on their reef tank.

Yeah, pretty much. Little knob to control the air flow and off you go. Water level needs to be constant and I have mine sitting in a critter keeper so it is. I like it, but my tank just contains a Undulate Trigger, not a reef, however I do think it will do a good job in a reef tank.
