Just to confirm, a skimmer will not affect salinity, correct? I just started using one, and I am a touch ignorant. Where is a good beginers article on the subject?

Not in the immediate sense. The skimmer dooes pull out water from the tank and subsequently you replace this removed water with RO/DI water. Thus results in a slow decrease is salinity. I loose about 2 gallons a week in skimmate right now, which really doesn't lower 300 gallons SG level much, but I still mix my waterchange water a tad high so it resets the sg level at waterchange time. But were talking 1.025 1.0255... Not a huge difference.
