Skimmer cup question

I have a Octopus NW110 and the cup attaches with a gray union that looks about 2 inches across. My question is, does anyone know if there are there other larger cups that would fit onto the union. Will this make a different in the skimming? Am I better off doing a mod on the cup too hold more or putting in a drain?

A drain would be the best alternative if your skimmer is producing good skimmate

Yep drain is the way to go. Going to a larger cup would also prob end up with a diff neck size. Just drill and tap it and put a barbed fitting on it.
