skimmer for 35-40 gallons

I'm looking to set up a small tank in the 35-40 gallon range. I would like a top of the line unit that will easily handle this amount of water with a load of just a few fish and perhaps some zoas, acans ect. Was thinking of either a Mini Bubble King or an ATB small. I am intrigued with the new cones so I was looking at the ATB's. Is this over kill for this volume? If so what other options do people have?

I have a Deltec MCE 600 on my 30 cube. Overkill maybe? But I can upgrade in the future if I want. I do have a skimmer fetish also, so maybe that's why i over-skim.

overskim. i have a tunze 9002 on my cadlights 39g and wish i had waited on the funds for an mce600. the 9002 does ok, but i couldn't agree with fig more.

The two you mentioned are indeed very overkill, and I imagine unless you overfeed the tank a lot will not skim consistently for you. I might look at the ATB HOB model or the Deltec MCE600

I would rather not do a HOB unit. Was thinking of doing an odd fish display and having the skimmer (sump) on one end of the tank and just have the water overflow into one end of the tank. Since the "sump" will be on display too I would like to have a nice looking skimmer in place. That's why I was looking at the BK's and ATB's. Perhaps the ATB nano?

I would skip the mce600. I have a h&S a110 now and would highly recommend it over the mce600 (had the mce600 before the H&S). I ordered the ATB multi and it should be here late this week!

the ATB small or bubble king would be way to much for a 30-40 gallon tank and probably not perform as others have mentioned.

Ive used most of the small skimmers out there and thus far IMO the H&S is the best. I have high hopes for the ATB.

I have the Tunze 9002 and would say its good for 20-30 gallon softy tank. It's not the strongest skimmer - I have a touch of cyano on the sandbed but my tank is 40 gallon.

I have one of the new Eshopps hang on skimmers and it works REALLY well for the $140 price tag. Well built, looks nice and functions very well. Very impressed.
