Skimmer for Biocube 32

Many people run these with that skimmer. Why don't you like it? How often have you need to replace the limestones?
When you do that, how many level of the media basket are you giving up? I would guess only the top one because if the top two why would you even need the basket for the bottom level.

The 9001 skimmer sits next to the media basket, not on top of it in chamber 2.

I know this is an old post. But I was wondering if anyone was evere able to get the Aquaticlife 115 skimmer to fit in the led biocube 32. I already have the skimmer. And I did the airline mod so I have the airline running out the back of the tank. And I superglued the suction cups on. But no matter which way I turn the skimmer in order for me to get it to skim properly the lid to the tank won't close with the collection cup on the skimmer. I was considering maybe trimming some of the excess plastic in the hood to see if maybe the hood will close then.

I was bale to put my AL115 in chamber 3 and I use an ato in chamber 3 as well to keep the water level perfect....I did the magnet and airline tube mods
I just got my biocube 32 in the other day and I was thinking of using a skimmer. Does the AL skimmer fit in the 1st chamber?

I have the aquaticlife 115 and was able to get it in chamber 1 on my CL BC29 but there was always a chance of moving it up or down when i opened or closed the hood.
I have been toying with the idea of hanging an aquamaxx HOB-1 on it but the wife doesn't like the idea of a skimmer sticking up behind the tank and I am conserend not only with the amount of cutting required but will the lid still open on the remaining hinges?
After reading this thread, I am reevaluating using my 115 but in chamber 2, which will require using an ATO. The problem being, and this is a new and still cycling setup, that I was planning on using kalkwasser for all my topoff watter, added based on the ph readings from my Neptune
Ph based topoff off will mostly occur at night when the lights are off and photosynthesis is down and Co2 is up.
For the in-chamber-2 skimmer option to work, topoff needs to occur during the day when the lights are on and evperation is up to keep the level in ch2 consistent.
