Skimmer for sale

WOW - You got $2000 in lights and are using a $100 skimmer?

My skimmer is the 65g model, I think it would be pretty much useless without the pump. If I go that route, it will stay as a set.

I like ASM a lot. I will keep the ASM if no one local is interested and sell the SS.

I think that powerhead is a Cap 2200, made by Via Aqua. I had 2, they are cheap but powerful. The thing I hate about those pumps is they use their own threads/fittings. You almost can not hook them up with PVC plastic parts.

I asked Barry about spare parts for them but he could not find, nor could I. I think the shaft or the plastic propeller broke on both of mine. Do not know what you need part wise to get yours going but I have at least 1 in pcs. If the propeller/shaft works, I have the rest, if you want it.

If not, when you get around to it, ASM makes quite the skimmer, perhaps a G3?

I only posted on this forum. Really do not want to ship and sort of would not care to use it on my 75g if no one local needs it.

I also use a G3, for the money it is one of the best skimmers I know of. There is no comparison to it and some of the other models in that price range IMO.

OK - I took the plunge and picked up an ASM G4X (they were practically giving them away - Not!).

Anyway - I have a Coral Life Super Skimmer 65 and an ASM G3, one of which I do not need (if the G3 will fit in a 20 long?).

I was hoping to skip the shipping hassle but not that big a deal I still had the box.

Actually it took 4 minutes to sell it.

When you sell something in 4 minutes with no offers at a lower price you gotta figure you were not asking enough for it.

$200.00 shipped was a great deal.
Let us know the difference you see with the G4x

I threw in the shipping because I saw them new so much less on EBay. Could not believe the EBay deals. I paid $300+ and shipping originally. No surprise that the G4X on EBay was not great of a bargain.

Trying to call it like I see it, at this time I am not impressed with the GX4. For the money I am hoping my opinion changes. I suppose there is a breakin time period although I do not know why there would be. It is working just not breaking any records, the G3 was great.

It is so tall and pushes so much water that I have to unplug it when I empty the collection cup. I liked the fact that I did not have to do that with the G3.

I suspect when dialed in better it will perform - I will update.

Keep us updated Lloyd. Jim and I have compared the performance difference between our skimmers. Problem is his G4x has the recirculation mod and he has a much bigger bio load than I do. My G3 still isn't modded and I run ozone. I'm interested in the difference between a G3 and a G4x on the same tank.
