I have the trigger systems CRYS30S sump 30" long x 12" wide x 15" high. I currently have it under a 65 gallon mixed reef. I plan on upgrading to a 120 gallon reef soon and was wondering if I could get away with using this same sump? If so, what skimmer would you recommend for the new 120 gallon tank that would fit into this sump? I don't want to have to be battling with my filter sock to get one to fit either. If I can get a skimmer that will meet the demands of a 120 gallon and fit, I would love to know which that is. If no appropriate skimmer will fit in that sump, which sump would you recommend, and what skimmer? Thanks

That sump is more than adequate to handle your 120g system. I'd suggest looking at a couple of different skimmers:

- Bubble King Mini 160
Excellent skimmer with unmatched build quality and nothing out there is more quiet. Price could definitely be a factor here though.

- Octopus Xtreme Series 160
Good build quality, noise isn't too bad, and efficiency is excellent. Small footprint just like the Mini 160, and would be more than enough to handle your system. Octopus also has the Limited Space Saver 1000LSS which is the exact same body as this but with a Bubble Blaster 1000 pump on it that would do fine as well.

Whichever way you go you'll probably want to stick with a skimmer that has the pump mounted directly under the body for space saving reasons.

Awesome. Thanks for your help. I didn't know about the 1000LSS model. I was really drawn to the SRO models because of the Bubble blaster pumps. Looks like the 1000LSS is the one I will be going with.
