skimmer going crazy??

I agree with Chad...ich needs the tank to remain fallow for 6 weeks to let the trochons go through a cycle and starve out. Though if it weren't ich and it was in fact brooklynella then you should be okay. Keep a close eye on your angel if you have already added it and if it starts to breathe heavily or seem sluggish get it back into the qt and treat it with hypo of a course of a few weeks.....most dwarf angels don't do well with copper treatment.

thanx for the input lorna, ive been watching him everytime he comes out. If he does show any signs at all, i am going to take all the rock out and bake it and QT all the fish, then recycle the tank and add the fish again slowly

however, this would require some help from members with QT tanks because i dont think my 2 dwarfs would get along with each other in a 20g tank.... let alone with the huma trigger...

i will keep this up to date, if you see a new post needing somebody to keep a fish or 2 for me for a few weeks, you will know why : - )

You don't need to do anything with the rock, the ich will die off on its own. I have a QT tank up and running all the time so let me know.

only reason i was thinking about baking the rock is because that is the only thing i can think of that would cause all of my problems without being notcied. other than that im going to have to take all the rock out to get the fish anyways, i have tried without, and failed miserably

dunno about this huma trigger, he looks sweet but i think he is going to whoop my fish into a scary hell when he goes into the DT

maybe phil was right, i shoulda got a niger trigger...

Huma are aggressive but you could try feeding him from some tongs to kinda train him at feeding time so he isnt too awfully mean. Give the others plenty of hiding spots to quickly dart into the tank. You never know. You might not have any problems.

I have some tanks if you want to borrow them for qt to give your fish a little more room and it would help with water quality.

You will be fine with the Huma. They are bad fish, and you will soon hear him pciking off your snails.

not a good choice of words there phil

youll be fine, and its a bad fish.... just dont sound good together, lol

unless of course you meant bad in the good sense of the word

he is pretty sweet looking, and eats like a donkey thats been fasting for weeks

They would be one I would have in a FOWLR tank for sure. Awesome fish. I am a big fan of the triggers though

Ahhh seriously thinking of setting up a 125 fowlr......aggressive tank.....no corals...just rock and fish. A huma would be an awesome addition......

i agree, i was just upstairs looking at the huma in my daughters room, and he is a very creative looking fish. i could stare at him everyday for a solid few min, hehe

also, he isnt picking at my damsel in there at all unless it trys to eat the food when the huma is going for it

Knowing you cody, you could stare at him all you want, your luck is that he will be in a freezer baggie here soon spending his time with the rest of his past tank mates....hehehehe
