Skimmer gone CRAZY !?!?!

I dosed my 125 Fo with Erythromycin. Ive since done a 30gal H20 change, then another 50% waterchange all in effort to dilute the drug and keep my skimmer from overflowing.

My skimmer is frothing out about 1/2gal an hour. Ive been running carbon and poly filters to remove the drug.

How long does it take to normalize? iTs been 2 weeks.

I remember using malafix a while back and I ended up turning off my skimmer for almost a month. every week I did a 25% water change.

When I turned off the skimmer for the month, I had to take it out of the sump and clean it throughly. I left it out for the remainder of the month and conitnued the water changes and just one day decided to give it a shot and it was fine. Total time was just under 30 days without skimmer.

I am not sure what Erythromycin is (assuming it is an additive), but you may want to run carbon it may help.

try cleaning the skimmer really good and re adjusting it, ive had a similar issue, good luck

I would second the two weeks. I have had that issue with some "natural" biological treatments.

the directions for em and melafix both say to disable your skimmer during use just do a water change and you should be good

erythromycin is commonly put into handwash soaps, it is an antibiotic.
