Skimmer Gone wild - Help

Done two large 80 gal water changes with sand vacum on each. My skimmer has been going nuts for about 4 days now non stop even at full open. Had to take the plug out from the collection cup at the top. Have it slightly tilted up by the plug whole so sediment collects on the other side.

If this is something that has not happened before you may have a biological reason like a dead creature. If this is a new system, your pump may be too strong. One thing you can do is put a piece of pvc pipe over the neck to raise the distance the water must travel. You can keep adjusting this until you get the proper height.
