skimmer help dumb ?

i have a coarl life skimmer do i cclean the inside tube of the skimmer or do i just dump the brown stuff and let it run again.i do notice when i clean the inside tube it takes 2 3 days to stop the bubbles thanks for any help.

How true. Cleaning the draft tube all the time is not needed and can be counter productive. Just dump the goop and let the tube develop a biofilm. When it builds up to the point were you see a decrease in output, or a increase in nitrates, it is time to clean it. After cleaning a dip in very hot water will help it return to normal in a shorter period,
