skimmer help please

i have a hang on current fission skimmer model#8103 on my 55, after leaving the skimmer off for a day and doing a water change, i cant get it to stop overflowing, any suggestions on why it is doing this and what i can do to make it stop. i have cleanened the filter sock and the discharge bubble trap.
